I am still Celebrating the Real Christmas Story. I am celebrating that the wisemen/kings went to Kind Herod to inquire of the birth of Jesus. The Kings represent the other end of the spectrum from the shepherds: The rich, maybe even the very rich.
I am noticing that the wise men went to the top - Herod to ask about the birth of the new baby king. They followed the chain of command and assumed that the top would be the source of information. Isn't that how things look from the outside? But if you are on the inside, perhaps, you wouldn't go to Herod to ask those questions.
Matthew 1:1 Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem in Judea during the time when Herod was king. When Jesus was born, some wise men from the east came to Jerusalem. 2 They asked, “Where is the baby who was born to be the king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”
